Splurge or Save?

In the market there are both drugstore and high end products available but not always does the price reflect the quality of certain products. The $50 eyeliner may work just as well as the $15 eyeliner in the local pharmacy. In this post i will be listing which products you can save or splurge on.

Decisions, decisions. You may think to yourself, should i spend $X amount on a particular product. Below is a list of the products you should save or splurge on. I have also listed a few products that you might like to try out.

Foundation - Splurge
Even though some high end brands have very limited shades, foundation is something you should focus on, having a good base - makes eyes, brows and cheeks look amazing.
- Estee Lauder Double Wear
- Chanel Les Beiges

Powder - Save
The only difference i would say is that most department store powders are extremely fine and very smooth. But when applied there is a very subtle difference, little do people see the difference.
- Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

Concealer - Save
Since you have a perfect base from the foundation, the concealer will be mostly blended with the foundation so as long as you have the correct shade, there should't be any issues.
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Eyeliner - Splurge
No one likes panda eyes while your shopping with your friends, eyeliner is pretty much an essential, and you definitely want something that is super long lasting. I have found that most drugstore ones smudge and move very easily.
- Kat Von D Liquid Eyeliner
- Stilla Liquid Liner

Mascara - Save
Many brands such as Maybelline and Rimmel London have great mascaras and a wide range to suit your criteria, since mascara also has a short shelf life (3-4 months) it will soon be thrown in the bin. I find that drugstore brands work much better than department store brands.
- Maybelline Falsies, Colossal, Full N Soft and more

Lip products - Splurge
While some people may argue. I find that lip products do differ from brand to brand. Since it's taken out for touch up. I think it's okay to splurge on lip products such as YSL glossy stains and Chanel Lipsticks which look, feel and wear beautifully.
- Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain
- Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss
- Elizabeth Arden Lipsticks

I hope this post was helpful, please let me know what you think is worth splurging. Have a great day!
