[Review] Yves Saint Laurent 10 Color Eye Palette Tuxedo 2

After walking past the YSL counter i noticed that there were a few new product releases. YSL came out with the Full Metal Shadows, Pop Water Glossy Stains and 2 new palettes.
When i first saw the eyeshadow palettes i knew i had to get my hands on them, i managed to get one of the palettes so today i'll be reviewing the new YSL Smokey Eye Palette in Tuxedo No.2*. I personally have never tried any eyeshadows from YSL so i was excited to see how well they work.

On to the review

Lets start off my mentioning the packaging, as always YSL never fails to draw my attention into their products, the palette itself is sleek and compact. The front is black and gold with the YSL logo in the middle, the palette comes with 10 shades and a doubled ended brush for blending and patting down the shadows.

Before applying any eyeshadow i always use a primer, (Too Faced Shadow Insurance) with the primer the shadows last all day and are super pigmented, i love how i don't need much shadow and it still shows up very well on my eyelids. Through the out day i don't notice any creasing, smudges etc.

How i use the palette - I usually create a smokey eye by starting off with a light shade in my inner corner to the middle of my eyelid, then i use a dark shadow (black or grey) to darken my outer eyelid. I finally finish off by blending the light and dark shadows at the middle of my eyelid, to avoid any harsh transition colours. I love how the colours all compliment each other so the looks that can be created are endless.

PROS:                                                          CONS:
- Sleek packaging                                       - Pricey
- Shades compliment each other
- Pigmented

This palette can be purchased at Myer/David Jones and Mecca for $129 AUD, as mentioned above there are 2 palettes in the range, No.1 (Nu) -Neutral, No.2 (Tuxedo) - Smokey

I personally wouldn't recommend this palette due to the price, i find that there are other palettes out there such as the Urban Decay Naked Palettes and the Too Faced eyeshadow palettes which pretty much are the same quality. But overall its a great palette with a beautiful selection of colours.
